A bit about Mark:
I was born in Vancouver, Canada and lived there until I was 21. Since moving to the UK I have become a Personal Trainer and worked at Loughborough University, for the UK's largest Personal Training provider and for myself (www.journey2fitness.com).

Years in other sports:
I grew up playing ice hockey, football and golf as my main sports. I was introduced to football by my dad at the age or 2 or 3 and played competitively until I was 16. I took up golf at the age of 5 and played off a 4 handicap before leaving Vancouver. Finally, I was a relatively late starter in ice hockey by not joining organised teams until I was 8. I played competitively until I was 18 and has played on and off recreationally since.

Best/Worst Training Session:
Best training session is 6 x 30s sprints 4 min recovery. Worst training session is anything long.

Favourite training snack:
Espresso

Sports person you most admire and why?
Terry Fox. Why? watch this video http://youtu.be/f1QOtPDAAeY

Training aims for 2011/2012:
I've allowed myself to be talked into running a marathon next spring. My aim is to do it in 3:30 and if I can manage that then I'll aim to complete a 50mile race.

Top training tip:
Become proficient in a variety squats and lunges to become a stronger and less frequently injured runner!
