A bit about Me:
A Loughborough based triathlete, UKA Athletics Coach and Triathlon Coach. Coaching runners and triathletes has always been my ambition, and since 2006 I have been able to work with UKA and British Triathlon to become qualified and extensively develop these skills. My job involves working part time as a Schools Sports Coach alongside the working as a Veterinary Research Scientist.

Years in other sports:
As a young child I was always involved in sport (I have my parents to thank for this) including x-country, swimming, horse riding, athletics, hockey and netball. However it was clear I was not very good at 'team sports', so my efforts turned to cross country. I competed in local and national cross country races, at University in BUCS's then the London marathon in 2006. After a year off from injury I stumbled upon triathlon and haven't looked back since, competing in both Olympic an sprint distance races and qualifying for the world champs in Budapest in 2010.

Best/Worst Training Session:
Best: 10-12 x 400's with 60s recovery = lactic burn!
Worst: coming back from injury sessions (3 minutes of jogging can get very tedious)

Favourite training snack:
dark chocolate (95%)

Sports person you most admire and why?
Chrissie wellington, such an inspiration to any athlete from any discipline!! Just read this blog http://www.chrissiewellington.org/blog/world-ironman-championships-beyond-my-wildest-dreams/

Training aims for 2011/2012:
To have a consistent year of training and come into the 2012 triathlon season strong an ready to compete, bring it on! Oh an to go sub 40min on my 10k ... anything is possible hey!

Top training tip:
Always challenge yourself and work on the things you aren't good at!! Training out of your comfort zone makes us better athletes.
